Before you book, a quick run through of what we'll cover, what you'll walk out with, and what the session will cost.

Plenty of people have been sent away with a photocopied sheet of exercises and told to give it a go. That's not what this is.
We spend the first appointment getting to know you; what you want to be able to do, what's been getting in the way, and what your GP has referred you for. Alongside that we run a handful of clinical exercise assessments: straightforward, practical measures of your strength, your balance and your fitness.
The two halves do different jobs. The conversation tells us what actually matters to you. The assessments tell us where your body is right now. Put them together and we can see where you need to start, where you can realistically start today, and how we get you from now to where you want to be.
You leave with a written plan built off your own results. Not a general one.
None of it is a fitness test and there's nothing to pass. You do what you can do on the day, and that's exactly the information we need.
Roughly half conversation, half assessment. The assessments are quick and none of them are strenuous.
Where we start, and the part that makes everything else useful. What you want to be able to do, what's got in the way, what your GP has flagged, and what you've already tried.
We measure the strength in each hand and arm using a VALD dynamometer. It takes about a minute and it tells us a surprising amount about your overall strength.
You stand on a force plate — first normally, then on one leg, then with your eyes closed (if possible).
It picks up small changes in how you're holding yourself that you'd never notice standing on the floor. We keep an eye on you the whole time.
You perform a mid-thigh pull on the VALD force plate. You pull against a fixed bar for a few seconds. Nothing moves and nothing gets lifted, so there's no weight to manage — it just gives us a clean number for how much force your body can produce.
You do a squat or sit-to-stand assessment. We watch how you get down and back up, and where you're compensating. To whatever depth is comfortable for you.
You'll complete a walking test to estimate your aerobic fitness, plus blood pressure, resting heart rate and oxygen saturation. It's a walk, not a run, and it stops well before anything maximal.
Very few clinics in Bundaberg are running force-plate assessments at a first appointment. It's the difference between an opinion about where you're at and a measurement of it.
A written report, emailed straight to you, built from what we covered on the day. It covers:

We don't put you in a category or give you a grade. We let you know where you are now and what to do about it.
You can take the plan and run with it yourself. You can come back and work with us. Or you can take it to your GP and talk it over. That's genuinely your call, and we'll tell you what we think either way.

The first appointment is $160.
If your GP has referred you under a Chronic Disease Management plan, Medicare pays $63.40 of that back to you. So you're $96.60 out of pocket.
We process the rebate on the spot, so it's back in your account before you leave.
Without a referral, or if you've used your referred visits for the year, it's $160 with no rebate.
Why we don't bulk-bill:
We used to do these for no out-of-pocket for the client. It sounds generous, but it isn't. An hour that costs nothing gets treated like it's worth nothing, and people turned up not really knowing what it was or why it mattered. Charging for it means we can give you the full hour properly, and it means you know what you're getting before you walk in.
Your Initial Consultation will take up to 60 minutes.
Something you can move in and closed-in shoes. You won't be doing a workout, but you will be up on your feet for some of it.
No, and you don't need to have done anything to prepare. Plenty of people come in having done nothing for years — that's the normal starting point, not the exception. Everything is scaled to what you can do on the day.
Our clinic is located within World Gym Bundaberg at 14 Heidke Street, Avoca (opposite to Sugarland Shopping Centre). There is disabled parking available near the front entrance, otherwise park anywhere in the large carpark, head into the gym reception and let them know you're there to see us a Movement3. They will point you in the right direction.
No. The first appointment is a standalone appointment. If you want to keep working with us afterwards we'll show you the options, and if you don't, you still keep your plan.
No you do not. When you are attending a session with Movement3 (M3) you do not need a membership. If you wish to access World Gym outside of our sessions you will require a valid membership. If you do not currently have a membership and wish to, then that is something we can discuss and arrange for you.
Give us a call or reply to your confirmation.
We do have a 24 hour cancellation policy - so if you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment start time you will be required to reschedule within 2 weeks or forfeit the session at full fee.
Yes there is. Once your consultation has been scheduled, you will receive New Patient Intake Form by email. This form must be completed more than 24 hours prior to your appointment to confirm your booking.
This also allows us to collect information that helps us prepare for you consult to make the most of our time together.
This form requires payment information to be entered to enable submission. This is also part of our cancellation policy. You will not be charged anything until the day.
Pick a time that suits you, or give us a call and we can book you in on the phone.
If you haven't been referred by your GP, or you are a Veteran or NDIS participant, head to our Services page for more information on how to get started!
